Ultimate Battle of the Bands - Final Four

And Then There Were FOUR!

Excellent participation once again as 14 music fans cast votes to determine the champions of each respective Decade bracket, so here you have it:

A) 1960s


B) 1970s
1. Beatles (64%)
9. Queen (79%)
  
D) 1990s+


C) 1980s
7. Coldplay (86%)
13. Police (57%)

Beatles and Police needed late surges to pull away, whereas Queen and Coldplay dominated throughout.  In fact only Chris Miller and I cast votes for Radiohead, go figure!!!


So the Final Four brackets are very simple. 

A.    Beatles vs D. Coldplay

B.    Queen vs C. Police 


Select two bands to advance to the Final head-to-head competition.

Deadline:  End of Day Friday April 8th (6pm EST)

    Very difficult decision. It's like asking people from different age groups who is the best soccer player ever. People who grew up watching Pele play will tell you it's Pele; younger people will say Maradona and the youngest will choose Messi.
    I think the rock band that becomes the winner of this contest will have to be thankful in large part to the age group of the participants on the distribution mail.
    To me:
    A) Coldplay
    B) The Police

    D. Coldplay (The Beatles were revolutionary, but Coldplay is solid!!!)
    B. Queen (Even Tina Turner sang a song about them - "Simply the Best!"

    This one is like a fine wine, not to be rushed, so listening to some of the tunes (which is making the choice harder) but great listening. Vote in tomorrow.

    A.) Beatles - Was a bit surprised with their win over the Stones. One of the very few that could take the Beatles but they fell short. Considering we have people like Dovas voting I understand.
    C.) Police
    Now, Coldplay??? Of all 64 bands they make it this far? That's like say football is soccer. Just not right.

    I'm going to go with Beatles and Queen as my next picks. And you can make the Beatles my choice for the "greatest band of all time." Strange how that impression has only been confirmed with age.
